Timewax delivers software as a service to project based companies. We are looking for software developers that want to join our team to help build the next iteration of our platform to remain innovative when it comes to project and resource planning. We also need to scale our platform to handle larger volumes of data as we get bigger and bigger customers. As we roll out in new markets internationally, we also want to create more integrations next to our existing ones like JIRA, Teamleader, Slack and Outlook.
About the job
Whether you have a background as a full-stack developer, front-end web developer, or back-end developer, we have plenty of interesting projects to work on. You can focus on one area, like our React/TypeScript codebase in the front-end or the Spring Boot/Kotlin back-end application. You can also do a bit of everything. You can work on a DevOps project in our Kubernetes environment in the morning and work on making our integrations real-time using Kafka in the afternoon. It all depends on your talents and what you want to do with them.
We’re supportive of working from home. At the same time, we see value in meeting face-to-face at the office, too, and believe in combining the best of both worlds. For this reason, as well as administrative practicalities, we’re looking for people that are legally allowed to work in the Netherlands and live within a commutable distance of Amsterdam.

We don’t require experience with a specific programming language or tool, but you get bonus points for familiarity with at least some of the tools in our stack, like:
Don’t worry, we’re not looking for people that tick all these boxes. In fact, it can be a great opportunity to learn if you at least have a foundation of professional experience using other technologies, like Java, Python, or Node.js.
What we look for in developers
It is important that you can communicate in English. We have 5 different nationalities between 7 developers in the team. Our shared language is English, not Dutch. We are a diverse group, more than half of the developers are women, for example, and we strongly believe in creating a comfortable environment where you can be yourself and grow as a professional.
We’re looking for people with at least a few years of professional experience as a software developer, but we care more about the way you think and communicate than with which programming languages you have worked before. This is also why we have a small technical assignment as part of our interview process. This gives us the opportunity to evaluate that while you get a chance to spar with your potential future colleagues and decide whether you’d like to come on board to work with them.
